Meadow Vole (mictrotis pennsylvanicus)(looks alot like a mouse dosn’t it?)
The vole most commonly found in Rochester, NY and its surrounding area is the Meadow Vole. These little rodents cause a ton of damage to your lawn. Most visible signs are what as known as runs. These become apparnt after winter. It comes from the vole eating the roots of your most manicured lawn. The damage appears as pathways (runs) this occurs from the vole eating the roots of the grasses or crops.

Differences between moles and voles are:
- Moles have no ears. Voles have small but visible ears.
- A moles nose is naked. Voles have fury noses.
- Moles have shovel/rake like feet. Voles have feet like mice.
